Proudly representing East Atlanta’s Zone 6, Yung Mal has been rising up on a wave of grassroots support over the last couple of years. The bulk of his work has come in tandem with fellow Zone 6 rapper, Lil Quill. Together, Mal & Quill have built a buzz through their Blessed Lil Bastard series, eventually landing a deal with Gucci Mane’s 1017 imprint. Mal’s first 1017 release with Quill, Souf6, was produced entirely by Richie Souf, while the follow up tape, Blessed Lil Bastards 3, boasted features from Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Lil GotIt, and Q Money. Aside from his work with Quill, Mal has begun to steal the show on a slew of guest features, including tracks with Asian Doll, Gucci, and Pablo, among others. A new solo tape is on the way later this year.
